Tammy, chicken bone broth is when you cook the chicken bones in water for 24-28 hours to get all of the vitamins and minerals out of the bones. It's great for healing the stomach lining and decreasing inflammation. I make mine in the slow cooker, see this post: https://holistically.wpengine.com/2012/05/homemade-crockpot-chicken-stock-low.html

I tried this soup on the weekend because I needed and wanted soup to feel better from my cold. Let me tell you, it was easy, it was delicious, and I loved it. I will be making this more, but when the weather cools down. Great recipe.

Thanks,

I made this soup for dinner tonight and my husband and I loved it! I used fresh fennel instead of seed, left out the radishes (not a fan), and added extra fresh garlic at the end, topped off with Parmesan. I was surprised at how creamy the texture was. Delicious.

Olivia, according to the Whole9 (the people that created the Whole30) Forum moderator nutritional yeast is Whole30 approved. But if you do leave it out it would just make the recipe a little less "Tusacan" and would change the flavor a little. I'm sure it would still be a good soup. :)
