Following a low carb paleo diet helped me lose 85 lbs. and one of the ways that helped was tracking my carbs. This helped me learn how many carbs different foods have so I could make the best choice for my health and weight loss goals. My favorite tool for tracking carbs is fatsecret.com because there is a wide range of foods and it also can be configured to display net carbs. Net carbs are something I picked up from my Atkins diet days where basically you subtract the fiber from the total carbs because it’s thought that the dietary fiber doesn’t have an impact on blood sugar. Since I know that everyone is on a slightly different journey for health and/or weight loss I though I’d show a video of how I used fatsecret.com in hopes that it might help others on their journey.
Fat Secret also has an app for both iPhone and Android that can also be configured for net carbs and comes in handy for tracking carbs when you’re away from the computer.
